Guava (Psidiumguajava) is thought to be native to Mexico. It is grown in the Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe and of course Jamaica. It is known as goyavier in French, guayave in German, bonjiro in Japanese and guayabo in Spanish. This plant and its health benefits have been extensively researched globally. The young leaves of the guava plant are used in traditional medicine in tropical countries. Guava leaves contain a number of beneficial substances, including antioxidants like vitamin C and flavonoids such as quercetin. Drinking a tea made by soaking guava leaves in hot water is said to be beneficial in ease vomiting, treating diarrhea, lowering cholesterol and preventing diabetes.
Instructions for Use: Pour 1 cup of freshly boiled water over 1 tea bag. Brew for 4 minutes. Stir with spoon for a stronger brew. Sweeten to taste.
